President Walter Rea

 

Walter retired as a 39-year veteran of law enforcement who specialized in counternarcotics, major crimes investigation, and field craft training, he has held progressive assignments at the city, county, state, and federal levels.  Presently, he is an officer/trainer for a North Carolina based law enforcement agency. Walter worked as an federal taskforce officer serving on a violent crimes taskforce in North Carolina for 10 years of his career.

            In addition to his extensive law enforcement in the U.S., he spent 2 years as an instructor in Iraq where he helped rebuild Baghdad’s police corps.

            Walter started ReaGun Training Group Inc. in 2013 so he could bring his proven, benchmark training to private citizens, as well as law enforcement, first response, and security professionals in the private, corporate, and public sector.

            Walter’s distinguished service and outstanding leadership have been recognized throughout the law enforcement community, including: accolades from the Rutherford County NC Narcotics Task Force, the U.S. Army’s 519th Military Police Battalion, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Marshals Service.  An accomplished marksman, he has placed first in numerous law enforcement sniper and firearms competitions.  Most recently, he was the top performer in the 2017 and 2018 firearms qualification for the North Carolina Alcohol Beverage Control Officers Association. 

             He is also a qualified advanced scuba diver and certified instructor in CPR, First Responder, Law Enforcement Firearms and Conceal Carry Handgun by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission.

              Walter also holds training certifications issued by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board in Un-Armed and Armed Security training along with being a Firearms Instructor for protective services personnel.
